    Size of Journal (Outlook 2002 (10.3513.3501) SP1)

I don't use my Journal, don't even have it turned on, yet it consumes 7.5MB of my allocated 30MB of space. Can I eliminate or at least reduce the size of the space claimed by the Journal? How? Thanks!

Admittedly, I am using Outlook 2000, but my "never been turned on" Journal consumes 0Kb. Are you sure that it hasn't been turned on inadvertently?

Like UnkaMunka, I don't use it. But in your situation I would Archive all Journal content and see if it cuts the size down. If it does, you either are or were Journalling something.

Go to the Journal folder. If it does not prompt you to turn it on, it probably already is. Regardless of whether it is on or not, once in the folder switch the view to "Entry List". This makes it easy to see everything in there. Highlight it all and delete it. (Hold shift when you press delete to bypass the deleted items folder.)

If items are accumulating in the Journal, go to Tools, Options. Click on "Journal Options" and uncheck everything.

Thanks, Darryl. Turns out that I had 1880 items dated 1997 - 2000 in my Journal. I cleared them out and recovered 7.5MB of space. Thanks!
