Tools/Internet options no longer accessible (6.0/SP1/XPSP2)

My Tools/Internet Options is no longer available. I have 3 updates applied from Windows Update, and Zone Alarm and Grisoft Firewall and Anti Virus (free editions) installed.

I didn't change any security settings as far as I am aware, but I get the message "This operator action has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Contact your system Administrator". I am the only one who uses this machine.

    Any ideas please?

Sounds an awful lot like this recent thread on Spybot. Does that help?

    Theo,
    Just curious, TWO firewalls?

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

Theo, If this is XP Pro you can run gpedit.msc. Start | Run then type gpedit.msc. Then click on the plus (+) next to User configuration. Then the + next to Administrative Templates. Then the + next to Windows components. Then the + next to Internet Explorer. Then click on Browser Menus. In the right pane there should be an entry for 'Tools menu: Disable Internet options...menu option' If it is disabled, enable it. OK your way out. Also, what happens if you open Internet Options in the Control Panel?

    Thanks all.

Change of registry sorted the problem. I previously had Spybot installed, but had uninstalled it a while ago. It had obviously left the IE options changed. And btw, not 2 firewalls, but 1 x Antivirus + 1 x Firewall.
