START button mystery

The "Open" and "Explore" options when I right-click the Start button are now greyed out, which is very annoying since I used to use them to re-organize the programs menu whenever it got unwieldy. How can I restore them?

Yes, I have TweakUI installed, but frobbing all the relevant-looking options seems to have no effect.

Thanks for your thoughts,

MaryJ is right hiding a drive will do it every time.
This is a KNOWN issue with hidding drives since the start of TweakUI.

Go back into Tweak and choose the "My Computer" tab.
Make sure ALL drives are checked and under the "Folder" drop down box, it should say "Common Program Files."

This fixed the problem when it happened to me.

Good luck.

You are all geniuses. Thanks, it works!

Now I have to decide, do I want all those useless drives cluttering up the memory space, or can I live without R-clicking the START menu?

The amoumt of memory that is uses, should not hurt you at all. If it does you have REAL major problems.
