Default appointment length (Office 2000 )

    Hi

This has got to be simple, but I can't for the life of me work out how to do it.

Assuming you use a Day/Week/Month view, the default is, no way around it, the time increment set under (Outlook 2000 menu) Views, Current Views, Define Views, Modify, Other Settings, Time Scale. However, assuming you use Day/Week/Month view (I use 15 minute increments in that view), it's easy to drag the mouse across a couple of the increments and then have the appointment be created as a multiple of the Time Scale increment.

Should, but ain't, and is limited (or it may just be that what I know is limited <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>).

Anyway, if you use the "Day", or "WorkWeek" view, right click in the calendar and select "Other Settings...". In the "Day" section select one of the predefined "Time scale"s and that will be your default appointment duration (in these views).

If you use "Week" or "Month" views the default duration is 24hrs, ie an "All day event", and if you clear the check box, the duration defaults to 30 minutes.
