    Folder view

Is there a way when using MY COMPUTER you can set it so that all windows that are opened always & automatically come up in the LIST view format and also have the toolbar show. I'd like to be able to do this for WIN98 and NT4.0

    Sure!

    1. Click on My Computer
    2. Open your C: Drive.
    3. setup your folder the way you want it to look.
    4. Click on View
    5. Click on 'Folder Options...'
    6. Click on the 'View' Tab
    7. Click on the button 'Like Current Folder'
    8. Click on 'Apply'
    9. Click on 'Ok'

This should retain your preferred view for ALL directories on your machine.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks I found that on my WIN98 machine. But I don't see anything like that for NT. Any ideas for it or should I ask the NT area?

You might try the NT area...

    NT is iffy, it may be in the desktop properties area, it could even be a network policy... <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> I never liked NT... <img src=/S/puke.gif border=0 alt=puke width=60 height=15>

As I remember, i had to set this for all the folders I 'frequented' in NT... there's not a standard place to change all folders that i'm aware of... but again, try posting this over in NT, and see how it goes!
