    date default value (Access 2000)

    How Can I represent the first day of the current year and the last day of last month for a default value in a text box?

    Re: date default value (Access 2000)

    Not both at the same time.

    The expression to use in the Default Property for the first day of the current year is

    =DateSerial(Year(Date()), 1, 1)

    and for the last day of the current year

    =DateSerial(Year(Date()), 12, 31)

    Another, sneakier way to get the last day of the year is

    =DateSerial(Year(Date()), 13, 0)

    and there are several other possibilities
