Header Text Font Changes When Document Opened (2000 - ???)

When Ted opens a document created by someone else, the header text font changes to Ted's default font, rather than retaining the font used in the document. Ted's font is easy to spot because he uses Courier New 12pt. The document's creator used Times New Roman.

Why would the document use Ted's default font? I expected the header text font to be the same font used when the document was created, as it is with my own documents (even though my default font is Comic Sans).

Although I don't have access to Ted's document, I did observe as he opened it and saw that the header text font was, in fact, Courier New 12.

Can you help me with this?

    Thanks, Diane

    Hi Diane:
Tell Ted to UNcheck Tools/Templates & Add-ins/Automatically update document styles. Or send Ted only documents that are read-only & password protected against being modified.
