    Windows Update - ARGH - 816093

Windows Update insists on telling me that I need to download and install 816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM)...to which I faithfully push all the install buttons and watch the download proceed....after the download, I get an error message stating that this patch can only be installed on a machine with Microsoft VM installed....

    1. IF I don't have it installed, why does MS insist I patch it...can't be much of a security problem if it's not there
    2. After searching wide and far for a MS VM install package, there isn't one...

Sooo any recommendations...or just tell WIndow's update not to bother me...

I'm running Win98SE and have had no problems ....Tried disabling Norton Antivirus/Firewall and everything else running as well...search of Microsoft KB reveals I either don't know how to look or I'm the only one with such a problem...

    Thanks...

    Re: Windows Update - ARGH - 816093

Well...I figured it out...lots of research and investigating...saw a ref to a file called jsproxy.dll...it was missing...I found a copy on another computer...copied it over and presto...now the update applied...I guess part of the verification process for VM install is to look for this file...
