    'My Shortcuts' rather than Outlook's (2002 SP2)

This will be an easy one (I hope!).

Is it possible for Outlook 2002 to open, pointing to "My Shortcuts" rather than "Outlook Shortcuts"? It's getting SOOO tiring having to click on "My Shortcuts" every time I open Outlook <img src=/S/yawn.gif border=0 alt=yawn width=15 height=15>

    In
Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options
you can set which folder Outlook will start up in.

I don't know if that will affect which Group Outlook will open up with - I just go with the flow and change Outlook Shortcuts to contain what I want in the first place.

Thanks, Leif, but it's not the same animal - I open into Inbox anyway, but it's the left-hand pane I'm referring to! It's so long ago that I don't know whether My Shortcuts was something I set up, or was there already...

Yes I feared as much - that's why I wondered if it would open in a different group (ie group of shortcuts.) From memory, you get Outlook Shortcuts and My Shortcuts as standard by default. (The first thing I do is to either rename or delete ANYTHING called "My..." on new installations.)

Do you have your Inbox in the Outlook Shortcuts or My Shortcuts group? - you could have it in either. I suspect the 'highest' physcally placed group will open by default, so it may be just as easy to delete the Outlook Shortcuts group, then recreate it under My Shortcuts if you want to keep them both with those names. Or even just rename them. (The only original things I keep in the top level one is Inbox, Sent Items and Deleted Items - everything else is filtered mail folders.)

I use OL2K and no longer use the OL bar. But, when I did I just created a new group (defaults) and moved all the OL shortcuts there. Then I created my shortcuts in the OL group. You should be able to do the same (I expect).
