    Heads Up Dev Dogs (2003)

It's either an extended beta program or marketing technique or....
    ...maybe a real contest.

The most challenging category doesn't even make the list: migrating legacy applications while maintaining interoperability across three or four generations of Office! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Did you read any of the Official Contest Rules? You pretty much sign away all your rights to your app. You may win an X-box and a copy of Off2003, (or maybe even the car) but there goes your intellectual property.

Of course, the fame from winning such a prestigious contest will bring in contracts and job offers the likes of which no mortal developer has ever seen....

Who on earth would want a Mini Cooper anyhow? The only uglier car I've seen in the US is the PT Cruiser.
