    CD through headphones

One of my users complains, that after installing Windows Media Player from Windowsupdate website she is unable to listen audio CD through headphones using front panel jack on CD-ROM drive (Windows 2000, same problem with XP). After brief checking, I discovered that native Windows player (mplay32.exe) does not support front jack anymore. Does anyone have this problem and is there any solution?

    Try:

    (From within Windows Media Player)
Tools > Options > CD Audio.
    De-select 'Use Digital Playback'
