No Web Collections (Clip Organizer 2002 SP2)

Hi all,

I have several computers with Windows XP (SP1) and Office XP (SR2). They are all configured exactly the same way. Three machines are not able to access the "Design Gallery Live". When I click Insert > Picture > ClipArt, the Insert ClipArt task pane appears just like it should. When I click on the plus sign next to the Web Collection in the Search In list, I get nothing. I realize that I can access the Web Collection via the Clips Online, but it doesn't help since I am providing training to over 450 employees. I want to be able to show them how to use the Web Collection within the Insert ClipArt task pane.

Are there any registry settings that I could verify?

What happens when you click "Clips Online" link under "See also" on the bottom of the task pane?

It connects to the Design Gallery Live web site, where I am able to download cliparts.

It sounds like a policy/permissions issue. There is a setting whereby online access to clips from the Clip Organizer can be controlled or prohibited according to the machines profile.

Just curious... in the Clip Organizer, when you expand the Web Collections, what happens?

I've checked the Local Security Policy, but I haven't been able to locate anything that would prohibit online access to clips. Are you able to direct me to a specific settings?

In the Clip Organizer, when I try to expand the Web Collections, nothing happens. It's almost as if the Web Collections feature was not installed. Can this be installed separately? I've tried looking for a setting during the install process.

I'm not real savvy in that area. I have specialists handle those issues for me. It's just that in theory, it sounds like permissions or denial of installation. Someone even mentioned firewalls and proxies.

Here's a snip I found in TechNet ...

Disable Clips Online access from Clip Organizer
Clip Organizer Online URL
Disable menu item: Tools | Tools on the Web
Hide 'Web Collections'

Prevent users from importing new clips"

Just wanted to let you know that no policies are set. So this is not the problem.

I will look into the proxy and firewall possiblity.
