Obscured Screen Elements

Has anyone before me mentioned that the text box into which I am currently typing this post obscures much of the "Click Tag to Insert in Post" area.

I use 1024 x 768 (Large Fonts) which gives a lot of the benefits of the higher resolution but keeps the fonts readable on a 15" monitor. This works fine in 99.99999 % of apps and 85% of complex web pages. I can switch to 800 x 600 on the fly but this only makes things worse. Font size can not be changed without re-booting.

My setting is a standard Desktop properties selection. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Look in the

Two bits says you're using Netscape. I think Eileen posted the optimum browser settings, but the main one that shrinks the reply box is Edit/Preferences/Advanced & uncheck "Enable style sheets".

Thanks Phil. I hit reply to your post --> screen obscured.

Edit|Preferences->Advanced -- Disabled Style sheet. Hit Reload. Box no longer obscures tag area. Vi-ola!

I also found that changing my screen resolution to 1152 x 864 worked too, but this is faster.

By the way, have you ever checked out http://www.bookmarklets.com ? I'm going to see if I can write a bookmarklet in JavaScript that can give me a toolbar button to do this. I have a feeling that JavaScript won't let me do this for security reasons, though.

I like the idea of a using Javascript to handle the CCS thing in Netscape - I wonder if we could do that...

    Re: Obscured Screen Elements

If that would allow me to keep the "Enable style sheets" setting in NS, I'd like that. There are some sites, I need to turn it off (like this one), some it doesn't matter, & some I need to keep it on or else the text is so wide that each line scrolls off the page--a real pain to read.
