    Frequent crashes (Access 2002)

Since upgrading to Win XP Pro and Access 2002, Access frequently crashes. It happens the most when I am merging records to Word. But a lot of things set it off. Any fixes?

My thanks in advance to those who respond.

Do you have Office XP SP-2? I've been using Access 2002 SP-2 for half a year now (including mail merge to Word), and although I've had occasional crashes, they certainly aren't frequent.

    Have you tried:

    1) System file checker ? Start>Run>sfc <return>

    2) Completely reinstalling Access

    3) Making sure all your drivers on the machine are authorised ? Article

I know how annoying these things can be, we just had a problem with access running on windows 2000, for some reason it would not print certain things, but only on some machines.. even a complete reinstall of access didn't fix it. but installing windows service pack3 fixed it right away.

    good luck

Thank you for your advice. I have installed both SP-1 and SP-2 and have had only one crash so far.

Many thanks to you and Woody for this forum.
