Synchronizing Files

Is there an "easy" way to synchronize files/folders on 2 computers (laptop and desktop) on the same network. I'm using WIn XP Pro on each computer.

Thanks, Holm

You can use Briefcase for this. To learn about using Briefcase (and how to create one if you don't have it), select Start | Help and Support, and type briefcase into the Search box, then press Enter or click the arrow button to the right of the Search box.

Re: Synchronizing Files

If I were in your shoes, I'd put the whole laptop into my briefcase and head on down to Starbucks in Phuket some morning and ask the old "Phuket Pundit" himself how it's done !! Chiang Mai is just a short hop from Phuket if my memory serves me well. And a day at the beach surely couldn't hurt !!

Failing that... the briefcase solution sounds like it's the easiest. Go here to read how.

If the only network connection is a fast LAN then you could also consider using Offline Folders.

Advantage over briefcase: Much less buggy
Disadvantage: If you have a dial up connection when you edit a file then it will use the file on the server
