    Date last saved field (Excel 2000)

    Does anyone know how to insert a date last saved field? I want to include it as part of my footer.
    Thanks.

    Katie,

    The only way that I know requires VBA programming code.
    The following inserts the last saved date and time into the active sheet's left footer...
    '--------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sub WhenDone()
    Dim x As Date
    x = ActiveWorkbook.BuiltinDocumentProperties(12)
    ActiveSheet.PageSetup.LeftFooter = "Last saved " & x
    ActiveSheet.DisplayPageBreaks = False
    End Sub
    '-----------------------------------------------------

    Re: Date last saved field (Excel 2000)

    Put some code like this in the Workbook Before Save event routine (in the ThisWorkbook object):

    <pre>Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
    Worksheets("Sheet1").PageSetup.CenterFooter = "Last saved: " & Format(Date, "d mmm, yyyy")
    End Sub
    </pre>
