AXP doesn't show 'Edit in new window' option (XP)

Sigh, my new primary machine apparently doesn't want me to be able to edit
    subforms in there own window.

History: Prior machine had A97 and A2K installed. A2K used
tsisubformanator. Prior machine had horrid upgrade to XP - registry
problems that wouldn't allow the uninstall of Offfice 2K. Deleted and
    rebuilt profile, seemed to work.

Migrated to new machine with XP tools. Currently using A97 and full XP
    professional.

I tried unregistering the tsisubformanator.dll, but the system didn't think
it was registered. Did the OXP repair to no avail,

I'm suspicious that Bill Gate/Steve Balmer are punishing me for continuing
to develop in A97, but not sure.

    Suggestions oh my friends?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm also not certain I understand the problem. Are you saying that you can't open a subform in design mode at all, and can only work on it from the main form? The ability to edit subforms from the main form was added in 2000, but you should be able to open it stand-alone.

What do you mean "in their own window"? You can't do that in either Access 2000 or 2002, unlike Access 97, where you could double click the subform control to pop the subform up in a separate window. On the other hand, you couldn't see the subform design on the parent form, only in its own window. If you want to change the design/layout of a subform and need more room than is allowed for in the parent form's subform control, just open the subform from design view without having the parent form open. Otherwise, work with it from the parent form.

Re: AXP doesn't show 'Edit in new window' option (XP)

Microsoft revised the ability to edit subforms in 2002- while they didn't return the ability to double click on a subform to open it in its own window, they did add a "subform in new window" option to XP. Right click on a subform and the option shows up in the context menu - except in the damn copy on my primary machine.

So, yes, I can edit any form, and I can edit a subform in place within a main form, but I don't have the ability to open the subform in a new window - I have to close the main form and open the subform separately.

    Best,

Ah, I finally found it on my AXP. It isn't anything I see much need for, so I had never bothered to click the subform control and then right click it. I do notice that it's awfully easy to wind up in the subform instead of selecting the subform control, and the item is only available from the subform control, not the subform itself.
