    Create a contact from a winmail.dat file? (2KSP3)

In EudoraI I received a winmail.dat file attached to an email. Can Outlook create a new contact from the data in the file?

For the data to get into Outlook, it needs to pass through the File|Import routine. That it, it needs to be in one of the Import routine recognised formats.

Try saving winmail.dat as [something].vcf, and then importing it into Outlook. (This may not work.)

The sender sent the message to you in RTF (TNEF) format. They might not even realize this, as Outlook sometimes changes formats on the fly. You could try picking up the message using Outlook or Outlook Express, or forwarding it and trying to open it in OL/OE, or importing the message into OL/OE, but it might be easiest to have it re-sent in plain text format so you can extract the attachment in Eudora.

I really appreciate your help and will shoot for a re-send in plain txt. Both the sender and I are now a little wiser. That's progress!
