    Settings won't take

    Hi.

I have a bouncy keyboard with a short auto-repeat wait, so I went into Control Panel and changed it to a longer one. Fine.

Log off, log back in again, the setting has reverted to the default. Why? I even gave the account admin privileges, but to no avail. Help!

On the same note, why can't I change the date settings in the regional bit? In Win98, I could enter a point "." as the date separator, and all was jolly. Now, I can type it in OK, but as soon as I click OK I'm told I've used an invalid character. Setting it back to "/" then has absolutely no effect whatsoever, and I have to CANCEL as the only option. Help! Help!

If someone could help out on these, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

    No takers?

    Looks like I'll have to take it to the MS newsgroups... <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15>

Do the settings stick if you arelogged in as administrator?

Yes. When I'm explicitly logged in as Administrator, I can change the settings and they take without any problem.

It's just the other users which won't take, even those which have been given Administrator privileges.
