Barry, isn't this question essentially the same as <!post=this,275233>this<!/post> one? I can't see way to have the e-mail Display Name always default to the Contact name in Outlook 2000, which may be why it does in XP, which seems to handle this issue better.

I thought Outlook 2000 would typically use Contact Name (E-mail) as the display name in the To box. Certainly everyone complained that it did! But I've switched to XP now, so I can't be sure.

As JohnBF says, please keep your questions to the same thread - otherwise everyone gets . I think it may be possible to change your email adresses using VBA code - so that they show up the way that you want them to. (It's been a while since I looked at that part of the object model.)

The way you want it is in fact the default in Outlook 2000. (I go to some trouble to get it to show the way that you don't want it!!) Thus, I am puzzled that you are having the opposite problem. Could it be anything to do with whether the recipient has more than one email address?

That's odd, Unkamunka, because my OL 2000 business installation is pretty standard, and I don't get that Contact Name Dispay as default ... (or do I?). However, I have very few Contacts whose e-mail address were not first created in my PAB and then linked into the contact e-mail field. More research is needed, please send grant money now.
