    Windows 2000 Pro

Can someone please tell me what initialization files are read upon start-up? I have an issue with my Dell 4600..its bios is configured to have the numlock on at power up (which actually happens) until the OS disables it. I think there are a couple of files that the system reads before deciding how to start (or if it will...you never know...). I remember this from the days of Win 98... .
    Thanks a lot in advance

    The registry, perhaps?

    Edit:
    HKEY_Current_UserControlPanelKeyboardInitialKeyboa rdIndicators
    Type REG_SZ:

If set to 0, NumLock is disabled for that current user after logging on. If it is 2, NumLock is enabled and will retain the settings from the last shutdown.

If that fails, check JSI Tip #2628.
