Customize taskpad in Calendar (Outlook 2002 SP2)

    Hi

I have two task folders. One task folder contains tasks that are work related. The second task folder contains tasks that are of a personal nature. I would like to be able to view the two task folders within the Taskpad found in the Calendar folder. Is this possible? Is there a workaround?

    Thanks,

    Gilles

    No and yes <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

No, if you want to retain your two separate folders.

Yes, if you use categories. While your tasks are in separate folders, for each folder, select all the tasks and assign them to the appropriate category, ie "work" & "personal". Once the categories are assigned, put them all in the one Tasks folder, and "Hey Presto!", the lot should appear in Calendar.
To view them separately in Tasks, if needed, use View | Current View | By Category.

To learn more about categories, search for "category" in the Answer Wizard, under Help.

    Thanks TimOz.

I should have realized that the answer was forty-two. By the way, the categories did the trick. The only difference is that I had to customize the TaskPad view instead ot the Tasks folder view. To modify the Taskpad view, I right-clicked on the TaskPad header, than I chose "customize current view".

    Thanks once again,

    Gilles

Re: Customize taskpad in Calendar (Outlook 2002 SP

I have a variation on this problem. I have created a custom shared calendar & custom shared task folder. Ideally I'd like to create a view that would allow people to see the custom calendar & task pad at the same time.

    Any hope of this?
