    Finding Favorites (IE 5.0 +)

Don't know if that has been posted before, but this freeware app is very handy when trying to locate a site that you saved to your Favorites somewhere. I used to use a shortcut to bookmark.htm and then used edit > find, but after using DzSoft Favorites Search for the last 4 months, it is too useful not to share. Try it out - you'll like it.

    Thanks Telo for Farovites Search--

Nice program that would have been nifty if XP had included it--especially if you have tons and tons of favorties.

    Hi, Telo ~

You may already know this, but if you go to 'Favorites' in the IE menubar and shift+click 'Organize Favorites...', you will get a window with all your favorites - then just hit F3 and you are off searching w/o having to install yet another app. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Hi Bruce - No, I didn't know that and it works great, thanks. But I still like Favorites Search better (1 click IE toolbar button), but it might be because I'm lazy. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> Try it out - I think you'll like it.

Re: Finding Favorites (IE 5.0 +)

Does anyone know how to get a listing of your "Favourites". As a consultant, I move from client to client and am always leaving my Favourites behind and then having to reinvent it again. It would be nice if I could get a list in Notepad, even better if there was someway of dumping it into an Excel spreadsheet. Any insight that anyone can provide is greatly appreciated. (Currently using IE 5.5 SP2)

    Thanks

    Hi Ron:
If you have TweakUI installed, there is a SendTo option to "Clipboard as Name". If you select all the files in the Favorites folder, you can right click & use SendTo. Then paste into Notepad. If you have sub folders, you'll have to do this for each subfolder.

Alternatively, there's a Karen's Directory Printer that will put an option on the context menu & print a list.
    Cheers,

If you have IE open, go to File, Import export and follow the instrustions for exporting the Favorites. This will make a HTML file and you copy it to a floppy and you will have a Links page that can be opened in ANY browser.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Hi SMBP:
    Both your links go to Favorites Home Page. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Re: Finding Favorites (IE 5.0 +)

Ron--Two quick ways to always have lists of your favorites ready to print with a click with a number of other features that are free and will show them as a web page and make access faster are:

    1) Favorites Home Page
Download Faves to Go From Kelly's Tweaks Line 108

    They are <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>:

FavesToGo converts your collection of Internet Explorer Favorites into a single HTML file that can be copied to a floppy disk or e-mailed to yourself for access while traveling. The program is useful at home, too. You can make the FavesToGo HTML file your home page for an easier way to access your Favorites. When your Favorites menu changes, simply run the program again and it will rebuild the HTML file. You can customize the colors in FavesToGo to make the page easily distinguishable from the Web pages you link to.

    Thanks Telo--

I have MS Office keyboard, and while it has updates, and I have the latest driver I don't often get its updates because those mean so little (hardly offer anything for the keyboard that's new and different) and it has a fast button copy paste that's not as much backbreaking labor as having to go all the way to Ctrl +V and syncronize and hit them both at once--sometimes requiring two hands and things stick to the clipboard and I don't catch it. That wouldn't matter but I forgot to test drive the links.
