    problem with table (Word XP)

I've created a table in Word that has a number of columns across. In one section of the table, I need to have 3 rows on one side and 2 rows on the other. When I merge the 3 rows into one and then try to split into 2, I am told "the number must be divisor of 3." When I merge 2 of the 3 rows into 1 (so I have 2), I am unable to resize the 2 rows to be of equal size. Drawing lines to "split" the rows isn't an acceptable option because they don't seem to stay in place when we post files on our home page.

See attached. I divided, copied, & pasted your table into two tables & put them in frames. Gotta run.
