What the heck is this winmail.dat (IE 6.x)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

How does one deal with the winmail.dat e-mail attachment?

I get a lot of these and when I try to open it to be able to look at it, my Juno e-mail client does not tell me what kind of application I can use to open it?

Any clues will be so useful.

Occasionally Outlook mail attachments will get renamed to winmail.dat. You need to save the file, contact the sender, ask for the filename of what you were sent and rename the file accordingly. If you are sure that it's a Word file or an Excel file, just substitute .doc or .xls for .dat accordingly. It's possible that if you try and use these applications inside Juno, you may get Juno permanently confused. HTH
