    normal.dot (Office XP)

I have a Windows ME machine and a new Windows XP machine. I wanted to copy my customized normal.dot file from the ME to the XP machine. However, I can't find it on the XP machine? Where is it? What am i doing wrong? Thank you very much.

Microsoft Word starts out without a Normal.dot; it uses the built-in default settings. It will be created as soon as you change one of the settings that are stored in Normal.dot. The location for your personal Normal.dot if it exists is

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftTemplates

where <username> is your Windows XP username.

If ME is like Windows 98, the path might be inside c:windows (I can't remember whether the next level is profiles or something else) rather than c:documents

That would be C:WindowsProfiles<username>... I think.
