    Excel2000

In Excel 97 I had a file with columns that were formatted in text because the columns contained numbers with a zero preceding the number,eg.052000. I saved this file in *.csv format & the zero stayed attached. In Excel 2000 I cannot save the file with text format, hence I lose the zero. What can I do to save the file in a text format & keep the zero.

If I create a spreadsheet in Excel 2000 and format a column as text, enter numbers in that column with leading zeros, and then save in CSV format, and then look at the .csv file in Wordpad, the zeros are there. Can you explain a little more of what you are doing?
