    Re: $NtUninstallQ331953$ directory (XP)

These folders contain the information that is needed to uninstall Windows XP security patches if you ever want to do so. These folders are system folders that are shown only if you uncheck the "Hide system folders" setting in Tools | Folder Options..., View tab in Windows Explorer.
I wouldn't remove them if I were you.

    $NtUninstallQ331953$ directory (XP)

    Edited by WyllyWylly to add URL code. See the Quick Guide.[/i] <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Can I remove these directories from my window directory. There are about 20 of them.

I found the following article at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/...rt_II/P2CH4.asp:

If you determine that you need to uninstall a security patch, you can often do so by using the Add/Remove Programs item in Control Panel. Uninstalling a patch could be a daunting task in most environments. However, it is often possible to remove a patch by running its uninstall command. The following is an example of a typical uninstall command:

    C:WINNT$NtUninstallQ331953$spuninstspuninst.exe

    Thanks
