Accessing a word's custom property collection from (Word 2000/sr2)

I know how to create a Word Addin but I am not sure how to use it to access information in the specific Word doc that it gets loaded into. What I am wanting to do is how the Word doc auto load the addin and then the addin would automatically access the custom properties cloeection of the opened document and seach for a particular custom property.

Is this related to your other question? Because ActiveDocument.CustomDocumentProperties seemed to be the answer to this one...
