Stop Auto Insert of 'www'? (6.0 SP1)

    Hi,

On one of our office PC's when we enter an address to our local intranet, ie:

    http://web/SC_hn/news.htm

    it automatically inserts "www"

How do I switch this "feature" off?

    TIA,

    m.q.

Experiment with the setting under Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Search from the Address Bar. Personally, I choose "don't search" because otherwise IE does what it thinks is best for your URL, which often is not what you intended.

    Hi Musab:
Turn off Internet Options/Content/AutoComplete/web addresses. I leave mine on, but that's a matter of preference.
