    Excel Automatically Changing data in Cell (2000)

    I have created a spreadsheet with 3 digit codes to represent proper names. One of the codes is CNA. Excel won't let it stay. It keeps changing it to CAN. I've tried changing the formatting to text but that doesn't work. I tried putting in an Auto Correct Exception but that didn't work. What is in the "mind" of Excel? Is it correcting my spelling? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Tools - autocorrect
    In replace type:
    cna
    it should show in with:
    can
    press <delete>
    <ok>
    Now cna will NOT be replaced with can automatically
