    Hidden query (Access 97 )

I am trying to design an order form similar to the order form in the Northwind database. The record source for the order form in Northwind is Orders Qry. This is not a query that is listed under queries. When I go to help it says that the Order form is based on a hidden query. What is a hidden query?

    1. Select the View tab in Tools | Options... There is a check box to display hidden objects. Tick this check box, then click OK. You should now be able to see Orders Qry.

    2. Right click any database object and select Properties. You'll see a check box labeled Hidden. If this box is ticked, the object will only be visible to users who have specified that Access should display hidden objects.

Thanks Hans. I can now see the hidden query but am curious why it was hidden.

Why? Northwind is a showcase of Access features, so I guess that Microsoft wanted to demonstrate that you can use a hidden query as record source of a form.

How? See my previous reply, under 2.
