    wonders of the registry

I have just completed a two week project on an application that stores some of its values in the registry. One of these fields happens to be the contents of a text box. This can include carriage returns.
When installed on a pc with win 95 this field is not imported during install. I have now had to code around this to import data from a text file. Is there any way of writing applications for win95 that include registry settings that allows for the difference in OS?

    Re: wonders of the registry

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you created the reg keys with your code, it does not matter what version of Windows your users have. HKEY_Current_User is HKEY_Curent_User in all the Windows flavors.

Now, if you are reading and writing to OS or application specific keys that you did not create, you have to know where the OS expects to find them and code accordingly.

    Re: wonders of the registry

The problem makes itself evident after these events:
1 type info into a text box with carriage returns(win98)
2 save this value to a registry key(win98)
3 save other data to other keys in same registry section(win98)
3 export this registry section and distribute with application (win98)
4 load application on win 95 machine
5 notice that key with text box data is not loaded but other registry data is
