    Local network setup (5.1.2600 SP1 Build 2600)

I want to setup a local home network but have not been able to do so. I wemt tp Windows Explorer then selected MS Windows Network, clicked on WORKGOUP and received the following error message. "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The of servers for this workgroup is not currently available."

I am the administrator. I have kept a copy of my password but it doesn't work. I have a copy of userkey.psw but don't know how to make use of it in this situation.

What do I need to do to setup my home local area network.

Have you installed the hardware required to set up the network?
If so what are you using?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I have the network in place, complete with cable router. My other computer is already setup to run on the network. The problem that I am having relates to administrator's access - when I try to setup the network WinXP says that I don't have administrator privileges.

I need help in getting back onto the system as administrator. How do I recapture my sytem as administrator?

I have saved an off the computer copy of passkey.psw but don't know how to use it in this situation.
