Change appointment times to 15 min (2002 sp 2 on windows xp sp1)

When I was using Outlook 2000 I believe I could change the appointment setting times from incrementing every 30 min to 15 min. I don't remember how this was done. I schedule appointments for 1:45 or 12:15 or whatever and would like them to show that way. I have searched the help file and the MSKB. Maybe I am not inputing the correct question. Thanks.

View | Current View | Customize Current View... | Other Setting... | Time scale: gets you there in OL2K. Hope that gives enough clues to hunt it down in 2002, and you could always try the last resort (Help).

Just to confirm, it is (for once) the same in 2002.

Yes, that changes the view. What I want to do is change the times available when entering a new appointment. Now when you uncheck the box for "All day event" the start and time show 30 min increments. I would like these to show 15 min incremets instead. What you pointed me to changes the way you see in Day view but does not change this part. Thanks for prompt responses.

AFAIK you have to change the end time by hand. The beginning will autmatically pick up whichever time you wish - as long as you're at that precise time when you choose New|Appointment.

(Edited by JohnBF on 24-Jul-03 15:04. About 10 edits until I got the explanation clear and concise.)
Set the display time interval to 15 minutes as explained. Then learn the habit of using the Day view and creating the appointment by click-dragging from the start time to the end time you want, then right click to start the appointment dialog. You'll only have to hand-edit end times that don't end on the 15 minute interval.

On re-reading your post it appears that the 15 minute intervals didn't "take". Did you set View | Current View | Customize Current View... | Other Setting... | Time scale: to 15 minutes per TimOz's instruction? You should then get four divisions per hour in Day View.

Re: Change appointment times to 15 min (2002 sp 2 on windows xp sp1)

Sorry, I haven't been here for a while. Using Day vew and clicking a quarter hour does work. Thank you. I did manage to change the interval on the new appointment dialogue in a previous version of Outlook so I could just click a day on the monthly calendar and set the start time to 15 min intervals. Apparently that is not available for 2002. At least I have a workable solution. Again, thanks.
