Outlook, tiny screen fonts (SR-1, 9.0.0.4201)

Does anybody know why most of my messages open with very tiny screen fonts? They print fine but if I want to read them on my monitor I have to select all the text and change the font size to at least 16. This isn't happening all the time, just enough to be really annoying! Of course I can ask our TSC people but since I was just introduced to Woody's this morning I thought I would try you. Thanks

    (Which version of Outlook? - 98, 2000, 2002, etc?)

If this is affecting HTML format emails, open Internet Explorer then:
    View > Fonts >

What size is specified? Normal default is 'Medium' . . . .

    Thanks Leif!
Outlook is 2000 (OS = Windows 2000, with MS Office 97). Format/Font/ Microsoft Sans Serif, Regular, 10 pt on 3 messages I checked.
On YOUR email saying I had a reply, font says it is Times New (W1), Regular, 13 pt but it is as tiny as the others. Prints nice and big though.

Mystery solved. One of my friends at our TSC had me go into tools/options/mail format and uncheck "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages". Of course this makes me lose the Stationery option. Such is life!

Depending on your needs, you might be able to use HTML format stationery instead of Word's (presumably RTF format) stationery...

Thank you. I find that I do miss not being able to use MS Word. I had gotten used to being able to see formatting and Word's underlining of spelling errors, not to mention grammar errors/suggestions. <img src=/S/bummer.gif border=0 alt=bummer width=15 height=15>
I wonder if there isn't a way I can return to using Word without getting the tiny screen print on SOME of the messages? I'm open to any suggestions out there. For now I'll turn Word back on (Tools/Options/Mail Format/X "Use Microsoft Word to edit messages") then just shut it off when I get messages I can't read. <img src=/S/catty.gif border=0 alt=catty width=19 height=18>

Separate query: Can I copy your pages of Smilies and be able to use them elsewhere? If so, how? All I know now is the smile <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> and frown :-(.

It is not for me to give permission. Please send an e-mail using the LoungeAdmin link at the bottom of the page.

"The page cannot be displayed" "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings"

So I will therefore ASSUME Rule 5 must say I can't copy any smilies...

    <hr>5. Using our Graphics elsewhere
All our graphics are Copyrighted. If you would like to use our Smilies (non-commercially) outside the Lounge, that's no problem, but many of them are specially made for us by our very own GifMeister, <!profile=Kel>Kel<!/profile>, so please tell people where you got them from and give a link back to Woody's Lounge.<hr>

Weird. Try clicking the RULES link at the bottom of the Lounge page. Rule 5 more or less states that you can use the smilies for non-commercial purposes if you attribute the source and provide a link to the Lounge.
