Group By in a query (Access 97)

I am grouping by File Number in a query. However I would really like to group all like File Numbers into one line with one total. I would like to do it in the query so when I get to the form I can allow the user to add comments to a group of like File Numbers. Can this be done in a query?

You'll probably need some VBA code, we can help you with that. How do you define "like" File Numbers?

File numbers are a 7 digit number. Sometimes there are 3 like(same) 7 digit numbers in the table sometimes more. I call the field Inv_num.

I omited many of the fields in the query. And used just four fields to begin with. This gave me one line.

Umm, does that mean that your problem is solved?

I believe so. When adding the additional fields items like extra spaces between words and/or CA vs Ca were used causing the extra lines. We are now going to review these additional fields to make them where we can the same.
