Start Menu Recent Apps (XP Pro SP1)

I noticed that the program "history" no longer appears on my startup menu. Is there an advanced setting somewhere that may have been changed? Not talking about the "pinned" apps, they remain but the recently run apps has disappeared.

So far my Google searches have found everything under the sun but not useful pointers to fix this.

    Thanks,

    Jester

As far as I can see, you need to be running the 'non-classic' start menu to get this option...

Re: Start Menu Recent Apps (XP Pro SP1)

I am not running classic. I am running "Start Menu" with several pinned apps but the recently used programs have dropped off the menu.

I just used gpedit.msc and nothing was "configured" to be "enabled". I just "disabled" the Policy:Remove frequent programs list from the Start Menu
Description:Removes the frequently-used programs list from the Start menu to see if I could jolt the system back to previous setting. There was no registry value as described in MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...B;EN-US;Q292504
    (Registry Value:"NoStartMenuMFUprogramsList")
