    Scanning (2000/SP-3)

I would like to provide a button on a form allowing users to active the scanner and input a picture into a field. Anyone know how this is done?

I can't help you with the scanning from Access, but I would like to recommend strongly that you don't store the pictures in the database itself. It is a sure cause of database bloat. Instead, store the pictures as separate files, and store their path and file name in a text field in the table. See <post#=263706>post 263706</post#> for further details and a demo database.

I understand your concern. I've placed the pictures in a linked table in a separate database. I currently have over 450 pictures (it's a fish database) of Hawaiian fish species and the file is only 172K in size. It's easier to manage and transport and has been working faithfully for over a year and a half.
