spell checking on protected forms (word97 sr2b)

We have protected forms on our network.
the issue is - if the form is locked, the spell checker doesnt actually pick up any spelling mistakes in the form fields.
I've had a look on MSDN & it explains that thats the design which is fine.

Currently our users are having to unlock the forms & then perform the spell checker & then protect the form again. which sort of defeats the purpose of having protected forms in the first place.
Is there any other way we can do this?
How have you got around this?

    many thanks Diana

    Hi Diana:
Essentially that's what you have to do, EXCEPT, you must do this with a macro so that your form fields do not reset themselves. Manually, you'd have to unprotect, spellcheck, lock your form fields, & then reprotect...and I'm not sure that would even work with dropdowns & checkboxes. Anyway, for instructions on the macro, see How to enable the spellchecker in a protected document.
    Cheers,
