    Help: Corrupt .pst file??? (XP)

Upgrading a Win98 box to XP PRO.

Prior to a reformat, burned a copy of the old outlook.pst file to a CD AND verified it within Nero.

After new install of XP and Office XP, tried to import the old .pst file but get a message that it:
"... is not a personal folders file."

Please tell me that I haven't lost all the email and Contacts info; my daughter-in-law, who lives by her Handspring Visor, will kill me........

In Windows Explorer, right_mouse the imported .pst file and make sure it is not set as "Read Only".
(Files saved to a CD-R are by definition RO and Outlook doesn't tend to like that...)

You shouldn't have to import it. Just do File | Open | Outlook Data File. Then browse to the pst file.
