    Text is not wrapping correctly (v 2000 (9.0.4402 SR1))

    Hi all,

I am attempting to format a spreadsheet that I did not create. It's a huge table containing mostly text. My problem is that some of the cells are not wrapping correctly. In some cases, a line or two will not wrap at all. I have been searching for an answer to this problem and it has me stumped. If anyone has any suggestions for me to try, I'd be most appreciative!

    Thanks for reading this!

Excel's word wrap is simply not perfect. It is not a word processing program, it is a spreadsheet program with some fancy text formatting properties...

I assume you have already tried selecting the offending column and using Format-Cells-Alignment and clicking the Wrap text checkbox?

    Zeddy -

Yes, I have gone in and unchecked and recheched the wrap text box. I've also tried adding a new row and copying the offending text. I've also tried copying into a new, clean spreadsheet. Some of the text wraps just fine, but some wraps too long for the margins of the cell, so it cuts off part of the sentence. If I get some of the cells fixed, others get screwy.

Are you using a reduced zoom setting?

Many of the issues are due to different resolutions and drivers for the printer vs the display. It will show the wrapping IF it is required when you print it. (It tries to be WYSIWYG). If it is NOT required when you print it it will NOT (usually) wrap it in the display, even though the DISPLAY might need it.
