    System Folders (XP-SP1)

I have a folder I use all the time and would like to have it appear in the drop-down lists the way MyDocuments does. Is there a way I can do this? Unfortunately because of macro paths and settings it has to be in the root directory, otherwise I would put it in MyDocuments.

    Thanks!

Can't you just go into Explorer and Click on C: Drive, go to file and select New Folder. It would create a new Folder under Crive or just Cut and Paste the folder into C: in Explorer. Then again I may be missing your point. Sorry if I am.

It is already under the root directory. What I would like to do is have it in my drop down list of available system folders. For example, when I turn on the Folders list in Explorer, the top-level folders are:
    Desktop
    My Documents
    My Computer
    My Network Places

I would like to know how to have additional folders display in that list. It just saves me a few mouse clicks, which add up, since I use that folder all the time for my main customer.

    Thanks!

Couldn,t you put a Shortcut on your Desktop to that folder and get to it even faster? I know thats not what you ask me, but if it's one you use all the time it might help to have a shortcut to it on your Desktop. I have some folders like that.

OK back to your Question. I found this Creating Windows Folders

I do actually have a shortcut on my QuickLaunch bar which works well, I would just like one step closer. For example, when I open a document in another program, I have to select My Computer->C:->then the folder. I would like to see the folder right in the drop-down list. I know other programs add their folders to this list when they are installed, so I imagine I could edit the registry to do it.

<!post=Shell Object Editor,269940>Shell Object Editor<!/post>, and/or <!post=Indirect folder links,269088>Indirect folder links<!/post> might meet your needs. I use both without problems, but do note the disclaimers.

Hugs and kisses to you! The SOE was perfect. I KNEW there was something to let me do that!

    Thanks again,
