Problems with linking website pics in newsletter

I made a newsletter (in Outlook 2000, with Word editor) with some pictures included through a link to my website: through {INCLUDEPICTURE...}. However when I send the newsletter, the clients receive the newsletters with the pictures INCLUDED as ATTACHMENTS!!, rather than as a link to/downloaded from my website. What do I do wrong?? <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15> I can't find the option "Send pictures over the internet" anymore (to deselect!)

    Can you use instead?

(I don't use Word as my editor so I have no idea.)

Re: Problems with linking website pics in newsletter

I found the solution myself: with Word Editor: in Tools>Options>Mail Format clear "Sending pictures ove the internet".
Why oh why does Outlook's help file NOT give me any help!!!

    Wim:

Could you expand on this a little further? I am about to test my first e-newsletter with some included pictures and I want to make sure I don't have the same problem you did.

What initial format are your messages composed in (i.e. HTML)? Which program (Word or Outlook) are you finding the Tools | Options | Mail Format dialog? I tried to find it in a new HTML message edited in Word (thus looking for this option in Word) and no luck. Thanks,

The trick is to deselect " Send pictures over the internet" in Tools/Options. Then the link will be sent, rather than the picture.
    (see my newsletter attached)
I use Word as the editor, which allows me to include the INCLUDEPICTURE field. Check out in the newsletter by right-clicking on logo and picture and choosing "toggle field" (twice!).

I don't see the attachment so perhaps that didn't work on your first attempt.

When I use Word to edit an HTML message, and click on Tools | Options, I have 10 tabs in front of me and I cannot find anything related to "Send pictures over the internet", either under the General | Web Options or General | E-Mail Options. I am using Office 2000 Premium on a W98SE machine - are you using a different version?

What I am trying to achieve is to have the image displayed in the e-letter but NOT included in the message by sourcing it to a image on my website. My field code shows the following:

    <font face="Georgia">INCLUDEPICTURE d "http://www.legaltech.ca/images/dltlogo.jpg" * MERGEFORMATINET</font face=georgia>

Is this going to achieve my goal? I've attached a truncated copy of the e-letter if it helps.
