    Hi Ken:
    Thanks for this information. It eventually led to a link for CRM114, which claims to be over 99% effective without false positives. I may try it out. I wonder if anyone else has used it...it does say it's not compatible with Microsoft mail readers, though.

    Given that it is distributed as a tarball, rather than a ZIP, I think it's intended to run on UNIX. Maybe if you had ActivePerl installed you could coax it to run it on Windows? I think you'd still need to have a mail proxy to drive incoming messages through the software. Too much work for me...
