AOL Address book import (XP SR1 Home)

Any suggestions on how to import an AOL address book into Outlook Express?

    HI, Chuck ~

Apparently as a result of the proprietary software, this is not easily accomplished. I did, however, find a page that provided a workaround with this link:

Transfer E-mail address book from AOL or Juno into another program

    Thanks Bruce,

The method you pointed to is still a wee bit awkward, but it is a lot better than typing it all in by hand.

    HI, Chuck ~

I failed to mention the method I have used for Juno that I think you could do w/ AOL that will really expedite the process and cut out all the tedious Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and switching back and forth:

In AOL or what have you, open up a new composition window and then your address book
Click on each address so they all jump in the 'Send to:' window
Now select & copy the entire batch of addresses
Open OE and start a new message
Paste the entire batch of addresses into the 'To:' field
Put 'Test' into the subject line and body (everyone will get it, understand & delete it - they won't mind, really)
Send it
Now open up your 'Sent Items' folder in OE
Simply right-click each address and select 'Add to address book'[/list]Trust me, Chuck, this will be MUCH faster & easier than the method in the link above!

    Hi Bruce,

That's sounds very workable. I'll give it a shot.
