    Different printers (Word 2000 Win89SE)

    On the standard toolbar, there is a printer icon that allows you to print a document to a local printer. Is it possible to set up another icon that will direct the print to a different printer, in this case a colour laser that is on the network? Thanks. John

    You can create a small macro in Normal.dot that prints to a specific printer:

    Sub PrintToColourLaser()
    ActivePrinter = "printername"
    ActiveDocument.PrintOut
    End Sub

    Substitute the name of the colour laser printer as displayed in the Printer Name dropdown list of the File | Print... dialog for printername.

    Next, create a new toolbar button for this macro. Post back if you need more detailed instructions.
