Margin Error on Envelopes (2002, sp2)

Has anyone had any experiences with margin errors when printing an envelope when using the Print option as opposed to Add to Document?

This problem is seemingly inconsistent. The error says: "Margins are outside the limit for Section 1. Do you want to continue?" If no is clicked nothing happens, if yes is clicked Word prints a blank envelope.

The printer is an HP Laserjet 4050 6N

You might try downloading a new printer driver from HP. Hewlet-Packard LaserJet Beta has a driver for the 4050 under Microsoft Windows XP - Word Margins Fix.

I hadn't seen that information on HP's website. Thank you.

Unfortunately we're dealing with Windows 2000, and it's only one computer that has the problem; other users that print to the same printer don't have the problem. I guess it could be the driver; what do you think? The current driver is HP 4050 Series PCL 5e.

There is an updated driver on the same site for HP 4050 PCL5 for Windows 2000 for the Word Margins problem too. It might be worth trying it

    Egghead--

I don't know if any of this thread will help. I wasn't getting any errors, but I was having trouble with return addresses being off the envelop and addresses crooked or the last address line left off and it taught me to sync the printer drivers dialogue box with the Envelop Options dialogue box in Word--and as Hans says, I would always put a driver update high on my list of possible fixes for this:
