    Margin Problem (Word 2002)

I can't view the bottom 1/4 of his document in print preview and it won't print. I tried adjusting the margins and it wants to default back to 2.75 inches on the bottom instead of 1. I tried to reset the portrait to landscape and back again, but with no effect. Any ideas?

    1. If you use a HP LaserJet: many users have reported problems with margins in Word 2002 in combination with LaserJet printers (screen layout in Word is heavily dependent on the printer). There are updated drivers available from http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html. Select the operating system you're using, then locate "Word Margins Fix" and see if your printer is listed.

    2. Sometimes toggling "Allow A4/Letter resizing" (in Tools | Options..., Print tab) seems to help.

    Re: Margin Problem (Word 2002)

Could it be that the distance of the footer from the edge is set so large that it overlaps with the margin? The margins set the main page area but the footers are meant to be in between the margin and the edge of the page. If they overlap, the footer area restricts margin, even if the footer has nothing in it. In Word 2000, at least, you set the footer position on the same tab of the page setup as the margins.
