# Thread: airline airwaybill sequences (97)

1. ## airline airwaybill sequences (97)

i need a way of autofilling a series of numbers. The numbers rise by in the following sequence: 11,11,11,11,11,11,4 and repeat like this. So for example 300,311,322.333.344.355,366,370 ,381,392,403,414,425, etc...

2. ## Re: airline airwaybill sequences (97)

Enter the first 7 entries manually as constant values, say in A1:A7. Then, enter the formula =A1+70 in the next cell A8, and fill down as far as necessary.

Thanks Hans,

Now what if I wanted to enter the first value only... is there any way that it'd be possible to fill the sequence from that ?

regards
C

If the first value is in cell A1, this copied down the row should work:

=(MOD(ROW()-ROW(A\$1),7)<>0)*7+4+A1

5. ## Re: airline airwaybill sequences (97)

Actually my real problem is the real numbers I'm dealing with are 10 digits long, so for example I know that 1000000002 is a valid no.
If I put that in A1, is there anyway of preparing A2 so that it'll accept only other no's in the sequence e.g 1000000013, 1000000024, 1000000035, 1000000046, 1000000050, or even a no. a little further up the sequence such as 3954892826...

OK, let's assume that A1 contains 1000000002.
Select A2:A1000 (or as far down as you think you'll go on this sheet)
Select Data | Validation...
Select Custom in the Allow dropdown list.
Enter =AND(\$A2>\$A\$1,MOD(MOD(\$A2,70),11)=0) in the Formula box.
Activate the Error Alert tab of the Data Validation dialog.
Enter an appropriate error message and title. Make sure the style is set to Stop.
Click OK.
